About Me

Why Work with Me?

We’re lucky to live in an era that lets us work with people from almost anywhere. With so many options, how do you pick someone just right for your project? Here’s a short summary of why my background and skillset might line up with what you need:

I’m not intimidated by complex subjects. The more complicated, the better.

I’ve written about dazzlingly complicated issues over the course of my career for some of the biggest names in their fields: Accenture, Ameriprise, Dell, EMC, Johns Hopkins University, Morgan Stanley, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Thomson Reuters, and VMware.

I love nothing more than finding out the best way to explain their complexities in a clear, direct fashion. I have advanced degrees that have trained me to think through the underlying principles that make complex subjects understandable while not losing sight of critical details.

But I’m also a former newspaper reporter, columnist, and editor, so I know how to write for an audience not steeped in the technicalities of a topic. Plus I’m comfortable interacting with everyone — engineers, scientists, tax attorneys, CEOs, you name it.

I get deeply invested in my clients’ work and dedicated to their success.

When I take on a client, I become emotionally as well as intellectually invested in them and their business. I try to help in ways big and small – from thinking through new strategies to coming up with names for new features or products.

And my focus on their marketing and content needs stays on my mind continually. I find myself suddenly having an insight or suggestion for their business while I’m working out or catching up on the news.

I aim to be someone my clients love working with.

Besides delivering content that meets my clients’ needs on time or ahead of schedule, I strive to make the experience of working together as pleasant as possible. Fun, even. We all face stress these days in our jobs. A laugh or two can make it all more bearable.
